With that happening Amory Blaine turns into more of a player.

Amory attends a boarding school in the beginning of the novel and then he attends Princeton.

Blaine fell in love with several women throughout the book.

He truly falls in love with a woman named Rosalind who eventually ends up breaking his heart by marrying someone far richer than himself.

This again ends disastrously as Rosalind prefers a richer man.

This is not a suitable background for any side of paradise. He was also a Princeton student and had close hand view of the aspirations and blasé they experienced.

There was one main character throughout this novel. Amory Blaine was a very attractive man who was truly in love with himself.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this book to other people.

Initially the title for ‘This Side of Paradise’ was ‘The Romantic Egotist’.

Fitzgerald changed it to This Side of Paradise being influenced by Rupert Brooke’s poem, Tiare Tahiti. Scott Fitzgerald was a contemporary of Rupert Brooke and well versed with the works of Brooke.
