Each essay must be 500 words or fewer, typed, and double spaced, one sided or neatly handwritten. All entries are to be reviewed by the student’s teacher or parent (if home schooled). Each entry MUST include a cover sheet indicating the student's name, home address, telephone number, the teacher's name, the school name, address and phone number and teacher’s email address if applicable. ELIGIBILITYAll 6th - 8th grade students (school year 2019-20) in North Pinellas are eligible to submit an essay.
No matter what the criteria are, essay scholarships are a great way to use those writing skills you’ve been practicing to help pay for school.
The scholarship application process for essay scholarships is much the same as for other scholarship opportunities—you need to fill out the scholarship application, gather all your materials, double-check that you've met all requirements, and then submit your completed application packet before the deadline.
ESSAY SPECIFICSStudents must submit an original essay on the following topic: “How Did 9/11 Impact Our Nation?
” Essays will be judged on the following essay criteria: • Focus: A clear, controlling idea, that is strongly supported throughout the essay.
